These Terms of Service govern your use of Intent, a dating platform built around ethical practices and meaningful connections. By using Intent, you agree to these terms.

Intent exists to facilitate authentic relationships based on values and compatibility, not exploitation of user psychology for profit. These terms reflect our commitment to creating a safe, respectful environment where genuine connections can flourish.

Eligibility and Account Creation

Age Requirement

You must be at least 18 years old to use Intent. By creating an account, you confirm that you meet this age requirement.

Account Accuracy

You agree to:

• Provide accurate, truthful information in your profile
• Keep your profile information up to date
• Complete photo verification to confirm your identity
• Use only photos of yourself
• Maintain only one active account

Account Security

You are responsible for:

• Keeping your account credentials secure
• All activity that occurs under your account
• Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use

Community Standards and Zero Tolerance Policy

Intent has ZERO TOLERANCE for objectionable content, abusive behavior, or harassment of any kind. We are committed to being a safe space for all users where everyone feels welcome and respected.

By using Intent, you agree that there is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. Any violation of our community standards will result in immediate action, including content removal and account suspension or termination.

Prohibited Content and Behavior

The following content and behaviors are strictly prohibited:

Harassment and Discrimination:

• Hate speech, discrimination, or threats based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other characteristic
• Sexual harassment, bullying, intimidation, or threatening behavior
• Content that promotes violence, self-harm, or dangerous activities
• Unwanted sexual advances or explicit sexual content

Inappropriate Content:

• Nudity, sexually explicit material, or pornographic content
• Content that violates others' privacy or rights (doxxing)
• Spam, commercial solicitation, or fraudulent activity
• False, misleading, or deceptive information
• Copyrighted material you don't own
• Content promoting illegal activities or substances

Platform Abuse:

• Creating fake profiles, impersonation, or misrepresenting your identity
• Attempting to circumvent our safety features or content filters
• Using automated systems, bots, or scripts
• Violating others' intellectual property rights
• Creating multiple accounts or helping others evade bans

Content Moderation and Enforcement

Intent actively monitors and moderates user-generated content to maintain a safe environment:

• We use automated content filtering systems to detect inappropriate content
• All user reports are investigated within 24 hours
• We remove violating content immediately upon detection
• Violating users are suspended or permanently banned from the platform
• We preserve evidence of violations for potential legal action
• Repeat offenders face immediate permanent account termination

24-Hour Response Commitment

Intent commits to responding to all content violations and user reports within 24 hours. Our response includes:

• Immediate removal of objectionable content
• Suspension or termination of accounts belonging to violating users
• Communication to reporting users about actions taken
• Implementation of additional safety measures as needed

User Safety Features

Reporting Mechanism

Intent provides comprehensive tools for users to report inappropriate content and behavior:

• Report button available on all user profiles and messages
• Multiple reporting categories including harassment, inappropriate content, fake profiles, and safety concerns
• Detailed reporting forms to provide context for violations
• Anonymous reporting to protect user privacy
• Direct contact at support@intent-dating.app for urgent safety issues

User Blocking System

Users have the right and ability to block anyone who makes them uncomfortable:

• Instant blocking feature available on all user profiles
• Blocked users cannot see your profile or contact you
• Blocked users are permanently removed from your potential matches
• No notification is sent to blocked users to prevent retaliation
• Blocking is permanent and cannot be circumvented by the blocked user

Content Filtering

Intent employs multiple layers of content filtering to prevent inappropriate content:

• Automated text filtering for profanity, harassment, and explicit content
• Image content moderation for profile photos and shared images
• AI-powered detection of potential fake profiles
• Continuous improvement of filtering algorithms based on user reports
• Human review of flagged content for accuracy

Photo Verification and Identity

All users must complete photo verification to ensure authentic profiles and maintain community safety:

• Live selfie verification required during account setup
• Comparison with uploaded profile photos to confirm identity
• Re-verification required for suspicious account activity
• Immediate account suspension for verification fraud

Dating Token System

How Tokens Work

• Dating tokens are required to initiate conversations with matches
• Tokens are purchased through Apple App Store or Google Play Store in-app purchases
• When you spend a token, it shows genuine interest to your match
• If your match doesn't respond within 72 hours, your token is automatically returned
• You can choose to retrieve your token immediately at any time

Token Purchase and Refunds

• All token purchases are processed through Apple/Google's payment systems
• Refund policies follow Apple App Store and Google Play Store guidelines
• Unused tokens remain in your account until used or account deletion
• We do not provide refunds outside of Apple/Google's standard policies

User Content and Intellectual Property

Your Content

• You retain ownership of all content you share on Intent
• You grant Intent a limited license to use your content for:
  • Providing and improving our service
  • Analytics and research (in anonymized form)
  • Safety and moderation purposes

Our Content

All Intent branding, features, and technology are our intellectual property. You may not:

• Copy, modify, or create derivative works
• Reverse engineer our algorithms or technology
• Use our content for commercial purposes

Privacy and Data

Your privacy is fundamental to our ethical approach. Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information. Key points:

• We only collect data necessary for our psychology-based matching
• We do not sell your personal information
• You have full control over your data
• When you delete your account, your profile data is immediately removed

Service Availability

Daily Discoveries

• New potential matches are provided daily at 7PM
• The number and quality of matches depend on various factors including location and preferences
• We make no guarantees about specific match quantities or compatibility

Technical Availability

• We strive for 99.9% uptime but cannot guarantee uninterrupted service
• We may perform maintenance that temporarily affects availability
• We are not liable for service interruptions beyond our control

Disclaimers and Limitations

No Guarantee of Results

While our psychology-based approach is research-backed, we cannot guarantee you will find a romantic relationship through Intent.

User Responsibility

You are responsible for:

• Your interactions with other users
• Meeting safely (we recommend public places for first meetings)
• Verifying information other users provide

Limitation of Liability

Intent's liability is limited to the amount you've paid for our service in the past 12 months. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or punitive damages.

Account Termination

By You

You may delete your account at any time through the app settings. Upon deletion:

• Your profile data is immediately removed
• Chat messages are anonymized but retained for service improvement
• Unused tokens are forfeited (no refunds provided)

By Us

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. We'll provide notice when possible, except for serious violations requiring immediate action.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms to reflect changes in our service or legal requirements:

• Updated terms will be posted with a new "Last Updated" date
• For significant changes, we'll notify you through the app or email
• Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms
